Oprah's Book Club

I've been reading The Story of Edgar Sawtelle for about two to three weeks. Then, last Friday, Oprah decided to announce her new Book Club selection. Can you guess what it was? The same book I've been reading.

I don't tend to read Oprah selections because she picked them - a few, like Middlesex and The Pillars of the Earth I read BEFORE they were Oprah selections. Otherwise, I haven't read much in the list.

I am really enjoying this book so far - it's a little slow going, because it's longer and more dense, but it's certainly keeping me interested.

I don't normally read books because they are Oprah picks either but I was given the book, Cane River, as a gift and it was a fantastic book about 3 generations, starting in slavery and then becoming free but still facing prejudice. (okay so my summary is horrible, don't hold it against the book) You should consider checking it out if you haven't already. It is a think book but I couldn't put it down and ended up finishing it in a day and a half!
