Day 4 - One thing at a time...

As I've been trying to get into the habit of walking/running with the Couch to 5K program, I also downloaded an app to my phone called MyFitnessPal. It's a way to keep track of what I'm eating and where my calories are coming from, and also a weight loss management tool. It tells you how you'd do in 5 weeks if every day were like today.

Well...while I'm doing well on the walking/running part so far, the food part is not coming together. I'm doing fine for a 2,000 calorie diet, but not so much for the target 1,600 they have me at.

But, I'm ok with that. I've decided I can only focus on creating one habit at a time.

Now, I just need to figure out how to get music on my phone...

Sleep?

As it's now after 11:30pm on Thursday night, I started thinking about how I've started staying up later in the last few months. Last night doesn't count, because I didn't feel very well, and went to bed around 9:30pm. But, I used to go to bed between 10 and 10:30pm. It was pretty regular.

The last month or so (maybe a little longer), I haven't been getting to bed most nights until 11 or 11:30, sometimes even a little later. I'm not sure what's causing me to stay up. I'm tired by these times, but I just force myself to stay awake.

I think I'm going to have to roll back my bedtime very soon...

The week so far...

This week has been going pretty well, but it's been hard to get back in the swing of things. Especially when I've been trying to develop some new habits.

1) Bring lunch to work - This has been quite easy, since I stocked up on Chef Boyardee, and I'm bringing it to work. Tomorrow will be the day I can go out, only because Jimmy John's is having $1 sandwiches to celebrate their grand opening!

2) Making dinner at home - Ok, so Monday doesn't count in all of these. However, I made french toast and ham for dinner on Tuesday night, and last night was fishsticks and fries. Yum! Tonight is going to be chicken and vegetables. I'm not a big fan of cooking, so this is going to be hard to stick to, but I think I'm doing pretty well.

3) Exercising in some way, shape, or form - Monday was the exercise bike. Tuesday, same thing. Wednesday, exercise bike. Today will be yoga. Tomorrow will be yoga and possibly strength workout. Saturday and Sunday will be strength workout. Woo hoo!!!!

4) Movie watching and library using - definitely doing well on these. I've been reading or watching a movie when on the exercise bike. I love multi-tasking!

This weekend I'm heading to Muskegon. I'm excited to see the dog, since it's been awhile. I miss her. Hopefully, I will also have a post about a new restaurant, Mia & Grace that just opened in Muskegon.
