Right, I had this completely insane idea at the beginning of the year to read from a list of 50 books. I've read some of them - but I've found myself veering off on other reads also.
I've read 10 books so far this year, but only 6 of them have been on my list. I have a huge pile of books from the library and bought that I need to read. It's been so hard for me to stay on track though.
So much for lists...

Whew...
After another nap (I could get used to this), I have decided to post a couple of pictures from today's festivities.
Mascots galore!!! I'm glad they all showed up, despite the weather. Then again, they had the warmest place to be!
Hm, at least the eggs are visible...however, this is BEFORE they started sinking into the snow.
I'm so happy with how the Easter Egg Hunt turned out - it was my first one. I learned a lot, because Carrie is super organized and had everything handled (thanks!!!)Also, check out the video on the LSJ website - there you'll find yours truly.

Friday afternoon nap - yay!
I just woke up from a nap a bit ago. Why was I napping? There are a couple of reasons.
1) I had the day off. I hardly nap, because it usually just doesn't fit in to what I'm doing at 2pm.
2) I woke up earlier than a normal work day this morning. I had the joy of being on the radio this morning on 97.5 WJIM to plug the Lansing Jaycees and the Easter Egg Hunt. If you don't believe me, just check out the calendar with what happens each day on the morning show.

3) This week was a really long week - lots going on, not enough sleep at night, and more to come.
I'm going to just be lazy the rest of the day, monitor my bracket online, and do some reading. All of this is in preparation for the actual Easter Egg Hunt tomorrow!!!
Oh no.....the snow has arrived.

I'm shocked...
Just so y'all know, I don't cook. Never have, not very good at it. My mom always cooked - she was a stay at home mom. So, I never had to.
So what the heck got into me when I got home from work? I mean, I had taken out pork tenderloin in the hopes that I would cook it - and I did. I marinated it, got frozen veggies out, cut up the meat, and voila! It was a tasty goodness kind of stir fry...it seems so simple, yet, it's certainly not my strong suit. I might be able to get used to this cooking thing...though I probably shouldn't!
In other life shattering news, I've been a hermit lately, and either watching movies or, in most cases, doing a lot of reading. I spent most of yesterday reading. I know it's not what most people would do, but it helps me relax. Though, I never feel like I have enough time in the day to do everything I'd like to.

What do you mean it's only Thursday??!!
Forgive me - I should probably save my complaining until next week or the week after. However, I really did not want to get up this morning. It was so bad, I didn't roll out of bed until 7:50 this morning. And, somehow I was still on time for work!
I'm looking forward to this weekend - the only thing I have planned is to help stuff Easter Eggs for the Lansing Jaycees Easter Egg Hunt next week. Otherwise, I have to do some laundry, I've got movies to watch, and I need to read my book for book club next week. I'm anticipating that next week is going to be super busy for me.
I guess I haven't quite figured out how to keep myself from getting so tired. By the time I get home from work on most days, I feel like I just want to go to bed. I should probably start getting on the exercise bike again.
On another topic, I made these fabulous apple dumplings the other day. It's so easy, it's crazy. Check out the recipe here:

For a laugh...but oh so true!
8 WORDS WOrds women use
(1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
(2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
(3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.
(4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!
(5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)
(6) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
(7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or Faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' that will bring on a 'whatever').
(8) Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.
